Menttora: Academy for Professional Development (“Menttora,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you provide when using our website, registering for courses and workshops, participating in webinars or professional development programs, or communicating with us.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Depending on how you interact with Menttora, we may collect:

  • email address and telephone number;
  • organization and job title;
  • professional background relevant to a course or workshop;
  • course, workshop or event registration information;
  • payment and billing information;
  • information provided when requesting customized training;
  • communications and correspondence with Menttora;
  • feedback, evaluations and testimonials;
  • information required to administer online courses or webinars; and
  • limited technical information relating to your use of our website, such as IP address, browser type and pages visited.

We will generally collect only information that is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.


2. How We Collect Information

We may collect information when you:

  • register for a course or workshop;
  • purchase a professional development program;
  • complete an online registration or inquiry form;
  • request customized organizational training;

We may also receive information from an organization registering employees or representatives for a Menttora program where authorized.

Menttora does not sell personal information as a business practice.

5. Professional Development Communications

If you register for a Menttora course, workshop or other program, we may send you service-related communications concerning your registration, payment, schedule, materials or other information necessary to administer the program.

With the appropriate consent, we may also send newsletters, announcements and information about upcoming professional development programs.

Marketing communications will include an unsubscribe option where required by law.

Menttora intends to comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) when sending commercial electronic messages.


6. Payment Information

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers.

Menttora may receive information such as your name, transaction amount, payment status and billing information. Where payment is processed by a third-party provider, Menttora generally does not retain complete payment-card information.

Third-party payment providers may have their own privacy policies and terms.

Menttora may use trusted third-party providers to support the Academy's operations, including services for:

  • online registration;
  • payment processing;

  • scheduling;
  • video conferencing;

Menttora will take reasonable measures to protect confidential information provided in connection with its professional development Services.

However, participants should not share highly sensitive or confidential business, personal or organizational information during group workshops or webinars unless necessary.

Menttora cannot guarantee the confidentiality of information voluntarily disclosed in a group environment because other participants may hear or access that information.

Menttora takes reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, loss, theft or destruction.

No electronic system or method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure. Therefore, while we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.


12. Retention

Menttora will retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide Services;
  • maintain business and financial records;
  • administer registrations;
  • comply with legal obligations;
  • resolve disputes; or
  • fulfill other legitimate business purposes.

When personal information is no longer reasonably required, Menttora will take reasonable steps to securely destroy, erase or anonymize it, subject to applicable legal requirements.
